This article investigates the scientific and pedagogical foundations of forming 21st-century 4K skills (Critical Thinking, Communication, Collaboration, and Creativity) in students by improving reading literacy. It analyzes the pedagogical potential of teaching literary texts, highlighting their role in understanding complex ideas, character psychology, and cultural contexts. The article proposes specific strategies and practical recommendations for developing 4K skills through literary texts, discussing methods such as text analysis, debate, project-based learning, and creative assignments. Furthermore, criteria for assessing 4K skills and recommendations for their integration into the educational process are provided. The study emphasizes the profound significance of reading literacy in modern education and the crucial role of literary texts in the holistic development of students.
